La Terrazza is an apartment
on the top floor (elevator) of a building of historic importance
dating back several centuries. It's located on the east bank
of the River Adige, a 5-minute walk or less from the Arena.
You'll be just blocks away from the famous balcony where Romeo
did not avow his love to Juliet, as the whole story is a fiction
(a fact that hasn't stopped hordes of tourists from photographing
the alleged balcony). You enter into a charmingly furnished
living-dining room at one end of which are a brand-new kitchen
and full bath with shower. At the other end of the room, a
staircase descends to the sleeping level, with a matrimonial
bedroom (with small terrace adjacent), a good-sized single
bedroom, and a second full bath with shower over tub. There
is a cellular telephone.
Most important, off the living
room you step out onto an enormous terrace which enjoys magnificent
views over the entire city of Verona. The terrace is furnished
with lounge chairs and a table, chairs, and big umbrella for
alfresco dining.
This is a first-class apartment
done in exquisite taste. There is no washing machine. A laundry
is just downstairs, as is all shopping. Paid garages are in
the neighborhood if you do have a car, as parking is not allowed
within the building courtyard.
If you want a really special
place where you can deepen your knowledge of one of Italy's
most interesting cities, La Terrazza cannot be beat.
