Corte Moretta is actually the
name of a charming small square nestled in a maze of tiny
streets steps from the San Samuele vaporetto stop. This is
a perfect location in Venice: close to San Marco and Accademia,
yet close as well to other, less touristed parts of the city.
Shops, restaurants, banks, post office, and all other services
are seconds away on foot.
Midway into the year 2000, we
asked the owner of our vastly successful 3-bedroom San
Simeon flat if he might be interested in purchasing a
smaller place for our clients who were just 2 or 3 persons
rather than larger groups. He immediately began looking and
in December 2000 purchased the apartment we now offer in Corte
Moretta. When we saw it, it was a shell. Now, completely redone,
it has justified our total faith in the owner who is a fifth-generation
Venetian furniture and antique restorer.
The flat is located up one short
flight of stairs. You enter into a good-sized double living/dining
room. The room is divisible into two halves with sliding doors,
making half the room into a smaller bedroom suitable for a
child or teenager. In one corner of the main living space
is a kitchenette containing everything from 4-burner stovetop
(no oven) to microwave to fridge to washing machine. The main
bedroom has a matrimonial bed divisible into twins, and the
bath has shower only. There is a telephone. Corte Moretta
is very light, and, being effectively in a cul-de- sac, quiet.
We are offering the Corte Moretta
flat at an extremely reasonable price for Venice so that the
greatest number of people will take advantage of it right
