A deluxe country villa with
its own swimming pool, Poggio del Vento is located just a
short distance from the famous and beautiful cathedral town
of Orvieto.
The house is all on one level:
the spacious, comfortably furnished living room with fireplace
leads to an alcove with radio/CD player. A lovely dining area
seats 8 or more. The kitchen is one of the best-equipped we
have seen in Italy. There are three good-size bedrooms, two
matrimonials, and the other with twins. Each has a bathroom
adjacent (one with shower only). The fourth bedroom is a gracious
single, recently redecorated, also with its own brand-new
bathroom immediately across the hall. A utility room contains
the appliances: washer, freezer, dishwasher.
Gorgeous manicured grounds with
English-style lawn and flowerbeds surround the property which
slopes gradually down to the swimming pool area which has
a shower, kitchenette, and covered eating-out area. The rental
price includes maid service 3 hours each morning, 6 mornings
per week. The housekeeper is available to do extra cleaning;
personal laundry and ironing; and childcare. But she does
not do cooking. Gardener/pool maintenance 5 times per week.
All the sights of Umbria, Southern
Tuscany, and upper Lazio are within an hour's drive, including
such famous hilltowns as Todi, Viterbo, Montepulciano, and
Pienza, as well as the gardens of Villa Lante, Villa Farnese,
and Bomarzo. Rome is an easy daytrip, either by car or by
train from Orvieto in 45-60 minutes. Families with well-behaved
children are welcome, but you must keep in mind that the house
is furnished elegantly. A delightful property in a great location.
A substantial discount is offered
during shoulder and low seasons for smaller groups wanting
to experience this fantastic property. In this event, the
bedroom across the patio is closed, so that what you get is
2 double bedrooms, 1 single, and 3 baths, for a maximum occupancy
of 4 persons.
