Prati Family Flat - RomeAccommodates 4+2 — 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath Prati is on the Vatican side of the Tiber, well-connected to the rest of Rome by bus and subway. It’s a truly authentic, bustling Roman neighborhood, with excellent shops, restaurants, coffee bars, all services, buses, subway, and tons of Italians going about the business of daily life. Our flat is very close to Piazza Cola di Rienzo, a center of Roman life, day and evening. St. Peter’s and the Vatican Museum are walking distance in one direction, Castel Sant’Angelo and Piazza del Popolo in the other. Just a bit further away are Campo dei Fiori and Piazza Navona. Our Prati flat is on the American third floor of a typical Roman residential elevator building, recently refurbished, with a particularly gracious entry. The immediate feeling you get upon entering the flat is one of airiness and space, with parquet floors throughout. All rooms are large, from the sunny living/dining room with a double sofabed and a TV with Italian channels, to both bedrooms, one with an indivisible matrimonial bed (63 inches wide), the other with two twins (32 inches wide each). The hall bathroom has a tub/shower combo; the kitchen has a dishwasher; there’s a separate laundry room with washing machine. As with most Italian rentals, there is no telephone. You can rent a cell phone or bring your own. Internet points are located throughout the neighborhood. You’re going to get some street noise here, not overwhelming by any means, but definitely present. I have personally become indifferent to noise whenever I myself rent: I bring earplugs which put the matter to rest. From May to September, you’re going to want to leave the windows open in the Prati flat, and to do so you’ll have to live with some level of street noise, as the flat has no air-conditioning. In other seasons, you’ll have the windows closed, and noise won’t be a significant problem. The Prati Family Flat is just what we’ve named it: a clean, comfortable, spacious, far-from-fancy, well-located, well-priced flat in a truly authentic Roman neighborhood ideal for a couple, for 3 adults, or for a family with children. We highly recommend it. For those of you crazy enough to come to Rome with a car, there’s a pay parking garage just down the street.
