    Accommodates 2 — 1 Bedroom — 1 Bath

Vicolo degli Orbitelli is a tiny street off the Via Giulia, about a 5-minute walk from Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, and the Vatican, an absolutely ideal location in the heart of Old Roma. Our flat, located in a small building on the corner of the two streets, was furnished by its owners for their own use and is therefore comfortable and charming, even rather elegant.

Upon entering the building, you encounter Orbitelli’s only real negative feature: 47 relatively easy steps to reach it. Having negotiated the stairs, you go right into the beautiful light-filled living room, L-shaped, with two comfortable sofas, several armchairs, and good art on the walls. This room looks over Vicolo Orbitelli and across to the terrace of another building. There would be some sounds from the street and neighbors but not overwhelmingly so. The flat is fully air-conditioned.

From the living room, you go up an open staircase to a sort of loft which contains the kitchen and dining room which are open to and overlook the living room. The kitchen is quite well-equipped, but there is no dishwasher. The dining table seats 6 comfortably. The ceiling in the dining area is a bit low but not claustrophobically. Also on this upper level, but completely enclosed (i.e., not overlooking the living room), is a lovely bedroom with an indivisible matrimonial bed with a brand-new mattress. Lighting in this room is by skylight along with good lamps. The bedroom has its own en-suite bath with shower over tub. There are no laundry facilities in the apartment itself; there are wash-and-fold laundries in the neighborhood, or you can arrange for the housekeeper to do laundry and ironing for you.

Orbitelli’s immediate neighborhood has everything: newsstands, banks, coffee bars, post office, restaurants, markets, and excellent public transport. The location cannot be beat, and it is beautifully furnished. We urge you to give it a try.
