La Cubia is a perfectly delightful cottage offering the convenience of being able to do all your errands by foot and simultaneously the beauty of being utterly removed from unwanted noise and commercial activity. You are within 60 seconds' walk of the center of Anacapri, with shops, bank, post office, restaurants. Yet the cottage offers complete peace and quiet.

From here, you are also steps away from the minibus to the Blue Grotto, to Capri village, to the lighthouse, to the chairlift, and to the port and the beach.

La Cubia was constructed by its owners in the early 1970's in traditional Mediterranean style. It is spacious and pleasant, even rather elegant, without being at all intimidating. In fact, it is one of the most inviting houses we currently have on our list.

The villa develops over two floors. Downstairs, there are a large living/dining room, good kitchen, and one full bath. Upstairs are two essentially equal bedrooms, one matrimonial and one twin, and a second full bath. The house is excellent for two couples. There is an additional upstairs bedroom which the owners keep closed and locked. The house is offered as a 2-bedroom, 2-bath house for a maximum of 4 persons under all circumstances.

La Cubia is surrounded by terraces which enjoy lovely views of the sea and the island landscape. (Our pictures absolutely do not do the views justice.) A housekeeper comes in once during each week to do light cleaning and to change bath linens during the week and bed linens at the end of each week. Extra housekeeping is available. The house is equipped with telephone, dishwasher, and washing machine. A beautiful house in a beautiful position.
