    Accommodates 6 — 3 Bedrooms — 3 Baths

    NEW! Air-conditioning in all bedrooms

Owned by a dealer in antiques, Villa La Fiorita is one of the most beautifully furnished houses we have ever seen in Italy. More than beautiful, the furnishings are also truly comfortable. The banes of our existence are bed comfort and sufficiency of reading lamps; Villa La Fiorita more than passes muster on both. Window screens, a rarity in Italy, are present on all windows. So far, then, we have covered "beautiful" and "comfortable"; most of all, Villa La Fiorita is inviting. It is lived in by its owners much of the year and has that feeling to it. In summary, Villa La Fiorita is a luxury villa without being intimidating. Because some of the furnishings are really valuable, however, the house is not suitable for children other than non-walking infants and young persons over 16 years of age.

The villa's position high up in the town is dramatic, with terraces looking out over much of Positano and the sea. The house is on the main street of Positano for maximum convenience and is set back for relative quiet, though there is definitely some road noise which no guest has ever considered a significant factor in their stay here. Shops, banks, post office, restaurants, and the minibus are steps away.

From the street, one ascends a set of stairs and enters the living level of the villa. Two living rooms and a dining room each have a working fireplace, and each gives out onto terraces suitable for lounging and eating outside. On this level also are an excellent kitchen and a bath with shower only. Upstairs are a handsome library with family memorabilia and 3 equal bedrooms, one matrimonial and two twin, all with good-quality mattresses and reading lamps. All rooms give out onto terraces. There are two baths on this level, one with shower only, the other with shower over tub. Thus, the only real defect of the house is that if a party of 3 couples is in residence, they must share 2 baths among them, or the party draws straws and one couple uses the bath downstairs. Phone, laundry, dishwasher.

Housekeeping is included 3 hours each morning, 6 mornings per week; extra services (e.g., personal laundry/ironing; food shopping; cooking; service at table) can sometimes be arranged directly with the housekeeping staff after arrival. Parking in a paid public garage can (and should) be arranged in advance. If you don't want to have a car – and a car is absolutely not necessary in Positano – we know an excellent driver who can get you to and from Positano and Naples or Rome. Call for details.
